Brandon Boyd, ‘Segovia in Profile’, 2016, Street Art for ACLU: Benefit Auction 2017

Framed, Work ships from LA.

Best known for fronting the band Incubus, Brandon Boyd is a creative force. His ventures as a singer, multi-instrumentalist, lyricist, writer, activist, and artist cohere to a unique output all his own—certainly one difficult to summarize. In his visual art, Boyd renders photographs and other images by hand, augmenting his compositions with introspective expression and incorporating text from his lyrics and journals. His frequent use of watercolor is juxtaposed by meticulous lines and figures in ink, and his skill as a draughtsman governs the chanced spills and blended pigments that color his pieces. Though frequently exhibiting in his home state of California, Boyd’s catalogue of solo and group shows spans the globe. Boyd’s work with Incubus continues with the release of a new album 8 in 2017. He is the author of the books White Fluffy Clouds (2003), From the Murks of the Sultry Abyss (2007), and So the Echo (2013).
